Issue 04 — Rates, Q2 2025 Updated quarterly · Signed off in pen

A public rate card, drawn up by hand.

We are the only mid-tier motion studio in New York City that publishes what we charge. Every number on this page has been signed by a founder, set in the same Garamond we storyboard in, and reviewed against the actual hours our fourteen animators spent on the work last quarter.

What follows is the rate card in full. No asterisk, no “contact for pricing,” no sales-led fog. If the numbers fit your brief, the next 30 minutes is a sketch session with the creative team.

Issue 05 — The Deliverable Matrix

What each deliverable costs, side by side, no asterisks.

Five core shapes of animation work. Flat USD pricing. Day counts measured against last quarter’s actuals, not optimistic estimates.

Deliverable Frames Turnaround Team Flat USD
Frame Loop A 6–10 second looping social asset, sound-designed and exported in four aspect ratios. 24 5 business days 2 animators $6,400
Page-Turn Sequence A 15–30 second hero animation for a landing page, drawn frame-by-frame on the lightbox rig. 90 8 business days 2 animators + 1 producer $14,800
Scroll Story A 60–90 second scrollytelling sequence for product launches, with three interactive breakpoints. 180 12 business days 3 animators + 1 producer $28,500
Social Cutdown Pack A 9-asset pack of vertical, square, and 16:9 edits derived from one master sequence. 120 9 business days 2 animators + 1 producer $19,200
Brand Motion Pack A 24-asset brand system: logo flips, transition stings, lower-thirds, and social end-cards. 320 18 business days 3 animators + 1 illustrator + 1 producer $52,000

All rates effective 14 April 2025. The next review lands 14 July 2025; standing clients lock pricing for the quarter on signature of the SOW.

Issue 06 — The Fine Print, In Full

Every line already includes sound-design, revisions, and licensing — read the fine print once.

Each deliverable on the matrix above ships with a complete scope envelope, not a stripped-down frame count. Sound design is composed in-house by our senior audio partner and delivered as broadcast-ready stems. Two rounds of revisions are baked into the flat fee — a structural round at the animatic stage and a polish round at the final-grade stage; additional rounds are billed at $1,200 per round against an agreed change order.

A dedicated project producer is assigned on day one and remains on the file through delivery and invoicing. They run the kickoff, sit in every review, and own the calendar — the team you meet on the call is the team that draws the work. Licensing terms grant perpetual worldwide usage across paid, owned, and earned channels, with one year of archival rights included; year-two renewal is offered at 12% of the project fee, capped at the original rate.

What the flat fee does not cover: on-location filming, custom illustration of brand-new characters outside the approved style frame, celebrity voice talent, and paid media spend. We are happy to coordinate those threads through trusted partners we have worked with for years; their estimates are passed through at cost with a 6% coordination fee disclosed in advance.

The cheapest surprise is the one you read about before signing.

Issue 07 — The Five Questions

The five questions finance and producers send before signing.

Sent to us, on average, fourteen times per quarter. Answered here, in advance, so the discovery call starts at the strategy question — not the billing question.

  1. Do you charge rush fees, and how are they calculated?

Yes, for deliverables pulled in by more than two business days. Rush is billed at +35% of the flat fee for 48-hour compression and +60% for same-week delivery, applied against the original turnaround, not against the compressed calendar. Rush is never offered against our standing quality bar — meaning, we will not skip the senior reviewer or the producer handoff to make the date.

  2. Do you offer monthly retainers, and what do they unlock?

Retainers start at three deliverables per month for a minimum of six months and unlock a 14% discount against the matrix rate, a named lead animator, and a reserved weekly 90-minute studio session. Retainers are invoiced on the first of the month and do not roll over unused capacity; we have never sold “unlimited revisions,” and we are not about to start.

  3. Who owns the IP at the end of the project?

The client owns the final deliverables outright on receipt of the final invoice. We retain the right to display the work in our studio reel and case studies, with your approval on the cut. The underlying source files (PSD, AI, AE projects, working storyboards) are licensed to the client for internal use and are not transferred as a matter of course; a source-file buyout is available at 22% of the project fee.

  4. What are your payment terms, and do you work with procurement portals?

A 50% deposit secures the booking, with the remaining 50% due on delivery and before final-file release. Net-30 terms are available on the second project onward. We are registered in Coupa, SAP Ariba, and HoneyBook, and our standard MSA and NDA are pre-approved by 211 of our 211 active clients per the most recent Clutch transparency survey.

  5. How do scope changes get priced once a project is in motion?

Any change to the frame count, aspect ratio set, or deliverable list after the SOW is signed triggers a written change order with a re-quoted fee, usually within 24 hours. Scope changes do not pause the calendar unless the change is structural (a brand-new character, a new product to render); in those cases the producer walks you through the impact on the timeline before a single frame is re-drawn.

Issue 08 — The Next Frame

If the numbers fit, the next 30 minutes is a sketch session with the creative team.

Bring a brief, a deck, or a half-formed idea. Margaret and Devon will storyboard live with you and reply with a fixed-fee SOW within two business days.

No sales-led discovery deck. No “let’s hop on a Zoom with our strategist.” Two senior animators, one calendar invite, one sketch session.
